Amadeus Mozart was born in this building on Getreidegasse St. on the 3rd floor (just above the lettering on the building). The ground floor in Germany and Austria is considered floor '0', so count 3 floors above that.
Mozart lived in Salzburg until he was 25 years old. He left because he did not get along with the archbishop. He then moved to Vienna and lived until he was 36 years of age.
